The company’s story began in 1992, when it was founded as the City of London Telecommunications (Colt). By 2008, it had expanded to Asia and the US, and laid tens of thousands of kilometers of fiber.

A three-pronged approach
To tackle the environmental challenges of digital growth, Colt has developed a three-pronged approach for its infrastructure:
Greening the network – modernising equipment, recycling materials and shifting towards more sustainable energy solutions.
Providing intelligent connectivity – using AI-driven networking and the on-demand connectivity platform Network-as-a-Service (NaaS), to optimise resource use and reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
Building efficient infrastructure – designing networks that reduce power consumption and waste, helping businesses to grow while lowering their environmental footprint.

Through employee-led outreach programs, Colt supports children in STEM education, providing refurbished laptops and hands-on mentorship to empower disadvantaged children, youth and underrepresented groups with essential digital skills.
